I took these on a drive in Sunderland, Mass., with my wonderful friend, Karyl, in 2003, when she lived in Amherst, MA. I wanted to capture the shapes, colors, and shadows of these old tobacco barns before it was too late. The following year, several of the photos were selected for a group show at the Cambridge St. branch of the Boston Public Library.
